Lorenzo Sognatore af Aftonmora is a gelding born in 2019, after Mees 497 sport elite x Mewes 438, mother is crown mare Imke Van’t Maarssen’s veen. Tomorrow Lorenzo travel to the Netherlands to be prepared for the ABFP test for his father Mees 497. We sold Lorenzo as a 1.5 year old but bought him back now when he was available for sale.
It is really nice to get him back home again and what a horse he has become! Big and majestic like his father! We did not measure him yet, but he is closer to 170 cm in height at the withers. Lorenzo has turned out to be the same wonderful horse as he was already as a foal. So cool, confident and with a hidden power button that we think will come into its full use now when he starts the training under saddle. We are really excited to follow him! The ABFP test is a five-week long test where the studbook KFPS ride and drive the horse to get an overall assessment which is then added to the statistics on what the stallion (father) inherits to his offsprings.
The ABFP starts on February 13, but Lorenzo will already go to The Netherlands tomorrow, where he will start his training with the Grand Prix rider Lisanne Veenje. We will continuously update Lorenzo’s journey here on the blog!
